Among all factors affecting injection molding, time, temperature and pressure are the most important one. We have talked about time and temperaturethese two factors affecting injection molding in another two passages. In this passage, we will talk about pressure this important factor affecting injection molding.
As a factor affecting injection molding, pressure can affect injection molding from three aspects: plasticizing pressure, injecting pressure and holding pressure.
Plasticizing pressure
Plasticizing pressure is also named screw backpressure, which refers to the pressure given to melt plastic when the screw rolls. Plasticizing pressure, one of factors affect injection molding can be controlled by the relief valve in hydraulic system.
In daily operation, on the premise that the quality of plastic products is ensured, the plasticizing should be as small as possible. The specific pressure should vary with different plastic.
Injecting pressure
Injecting pressure means the pressure given to the melt plastic by the head of screw when the screw id moving forward, which can be controlled by the control system of injection machine.
If the injection pressure is very high, the flow ability of plastic is increased. Problems like overflowing, flashing will arise very easily. But if the injecting pressure is very low, the flow ability of plastic is decreased; problems like bubble, void will arise.
Holding pressure
When the cavity is full, people may continue to giving pressure to the melt plastic in cavity. This pressure is called holing pressure. Holding pressure is also a very important factor affecting injection molding. If the hold pressure is too high, there will be problems like over flowing and flash. If the hold pressure is too low, there will be problems like void.

As we know, if one mould want to produce good product, mould quality itself is the initial factor. Another important factor is clamping force and inejction pressure.
If the product rib or some material guiding part is very thin, the material could not fill the mould fuuly. Sometimes the machine operator will increase the injection pressure. Under this situation, Majority products will have many many flash due to the high injection pressure.
One solution is to change the mould design, to increase the product rib or some material guiding part thickness to help the material fiiling. Another soution is change the mouldinjection machine parameter, adjust the first position pressure and second position pressure.

Injection machine routine maintaince work could help the machine run better and meanwhile the machine could run much longer.Dakumer has very strong fabrication ability and after sale service. Below is some maintenance work and notice points:
1.Lubrication
Lubrication oil is an important factor of the machine. No operation without lubricating, otherwise the equipment will be seriously damaged. Proper lubrication will lengthen the service life; on the contrary, poor lubrication will result in the wear and heat of parts. The clamping unit of the machine employs auto central lubricating device, and the other necessary moving parts have grease nipples for lubrication.
2.Maintenance of hydraulic unit
As the medium for power transmission, the hydraulic oil is used for lubricating the surfaces of metals. Since the variety and higher performance of the hydraulic equipment, the requirement for hydraulic oil is more and more strict.
In general, hydraulic oil should:
※ Flow freely under the working conditions;
※ Form appropriate seal in the moving accessories;
※ Have no physical or chemical changes while working;
※ Anti-rust and anti-corrosion;
※ Resist certain load and reduce the wear of moving components;
※ Separate moisture, dirt and other foreign substances quickly while static;
※ Suitable for sealing, etc. during working;
※ Fine resistance;
※ Bubbles resistance.
3.Cleaning of the barrel and screw
It is necessary to clean up the barrel when new material is used. Normally it’s no need to clean up the barrel until color change injection has amounted to 20-30 times. You need to do partial or complete cleaning depending on the contamination.
4.Daily maintenance
Operators should pay attention to the running machine. In case of any emergency, press the emergency stop button on the computer panel immediately and then turn off the main power supply. Do not restart the motor of the oil pump until the fault has been rectified.
During the working the operators should do as following:
◎ Listen
In the event of any defect to the motor, oil pump and bearing, there will be abnormal sound.
◎ Smell
The motor may give out smell if it is burned due to overload, ventilation block, electro-thermal coils and plastic in the barrel.
◎ Observe
Check the lubrication system, oil pipes.
Daily safety check
Daily electrical check
Daily hydraulic system check
Mechanical system check
5.Always keep the machine clean.
Before cleaning up the machine, you should:
Turn off the main power supply and put on a “no power” sign nearly.
You are required to:
Clean up the surface of the machine with vacuum cleaner and small emery cloth, including covers, pipes and valves etc.
Clean up the hydraulic oil or grease with yarn rage in time.
Otherwise the metal powders and dust stuck on the oil surface will reduce the mechanical precision and increase wearing,
Clean up the powders stuck around the hopper with vacuum cleaner. Otherwise they will bring the oil into the hopper during the process of maintenance to cause loss of the pump and valves.
